BADGER LAKE MEMORIAL SERVICE |
Newfoundland, Canada
07-07-07
|
Heidi's two loving sisters, Dana and Michelle hand delivered a portion of Heidi's ashes in a wooden urn, 4,000 miles north east to Newfoundland, Canada.
There, approximately 30 extended family members including; the Murphy, O'Keefe, and Leonard clans gathered at Badger Lake to pray for and honor their fallen kin, Heidi Teresa.
As a sign of loving solidarity, Heidi's great aunt Genevieve, her cousin Ann, cousin Elaine and sisters Michelle and Dana were silently rowed out onto the lake by cousin Gerard.
There, with heart felt dignity Dana stood and under grey skies tenderly shook the ashes free over Badger Lake. Heidi's remaining family watched together from the shoreline.
A small portion of Heidi's ashes was also buried on the very spot she stood the previous summer near the big rock. A simple white cross marks her grave and a honeysuckle vine sweetens her memory. |
